When to Renew PR Card
PR cards are valid for 5 years. You should apply for renewal if:
- Your card expires within 9 months
- Your card is lost, stolen, or damaged
- You legally changed your name
Residency Obligations
To renew your PR card, you must meet residency obligations: be physically present in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) out of the last 5 years.
